5/1: This has been a fun spring! Topped off some of the fence posts, finished two gates, planted most of the garden, planted a bunch of trees, redid the front and now working on four raised herb gardens.
We planted several fruit plants in the lower area - a plum tree, a combo pear tree, a combo apple tree, a fig tree, Huckleberry bush, two blueberry bushs, a raspberry and 6 strawberry plants! Most of the garden is planted and starting to grow as well!

This past week, I've been very busy! Widened the driveway on one side:

Planted the bare patch on the south side with about 18 plants:

Then built the walkway and retaining wall around the front planter. It's almost done - I just ran out of wall blocks. It's going to be one more high then steps leading down from the side of the porch. Plus, I'm ripping out all the plants Quadrant put in there and planting rhodo's, azaleas, heather, ornamental grasses and lavender.

Finally, we're building four raised herb gardens outside my office window. These are really hard to do, because I decided to have them match the angles of the house. Did two on Apr 30th and it took about 6 hours! All the big kids helped out (as well as Jill), but Lydia wanted to go one step further! She was a lot of fun to have help.

Next step - finish and plant the herb gardens, do the walkways around them, finish replanting the front and build the rest of the front retaining wall. Then I'll pour the concrete pads for the patio.
