Our new home!
In early 2004, we debated - do an addition to our home, buy another existing home or build new. We always knew this home, despite it's wonderful yard and fantastic painted kids rooms, was not our "permanent" home - it was too small to raise a family of four kids in. And with the interest rates at an amazing rate - now was the time. After much debating, and finding out about the limitations our septic system put on us, we chose to build new.
So, we readied our house to sell, chose a floor plan and began waiting. We had our existing house repainted, fixed and stained the deck, repainted part of the interior, replaced the carpets and moved a good chunk of our belongings into a warehouse.
On March 30, 2004, we got the call we'd been waiting for - a property was available. Not just any, but four of the ones we wanted along a green belt and we got first choice! We spent quite a bit of time before settling on the smallest lot, of all things. But it was the widest, highest, had the best view and was closest to the cul-de-sac. You can see them here - we had a choice of 183-186. We chose 186. Our house plan is Cascade 2441 - you can see that one here by going to Cascade 2400 and looking at the specific 2441. Here's the site as it appeared that rainy day:

Our house went on the market Monday April 12th. We sold it and moved out at the end of June, 2004 to an apartment only 1-1/2 miles from Philip's work. The new house will close on November 2nd!
We've been choosing our selections for our new house and I've created a page to show some of the selections here.
